When an athlete is diagnosed with a concussion, there are certain steps that need to be taken to ensure that they are safely returned to play. This is known as the Return-to-Play (RTP) protocol. Research has shown that active recovery plays an important role in aiding patients with concussion recovery. The Return-to-Play protocol is a gradual multi-day process that, with the assistance of a medical professional, increases an athlete’s activity.
The Return-to-Play function on the HEADCHECK system includes a variety of functions that allow staff to track their athletes more effectively, as every action within each stage of the protocol can be recorded within an athlete's profile.
