Nuances of the Horse Racing System (HEADCHECK Jockey Health Program)
There are several differences with the Horse Racing system that allow Track Medical Staff (physicians, NPs etc.) and Organizational Administrators (EMTs/Paramedics, Stewards) to manage their athletes (jockeys) throughout the racing season. Some of these additions include:
- Electronic Incident Reports should be filled out when an incident or injury occurs
- Electronic Health Questionnaires for medical doctors (MDs) to conduct a physical examination
- A Horse Racing Dashboard to keep track of the above documentation, jockey eligibility, and concussion baseline and post-injury testing
Additional Add-Ons and Functionalities
Users of the Horse Racing system also utilize the following add-ons and functionalities to manage their athletes:

Jockey accounts: Enable jockeys to view, share, and update their medical information
- To accommodate a diverse Jockey user base within the HEADCHECK Jockey Health Program, a Language selection feature has been added to the jockey web portal, allowing jockeys to choose their preferred language (English or Spanish) in their settings.
- Forms Manager: Enable jockeys to log in and e-sign any required forms
- Return to Play Management: Monitor jockeys’ recovery progress following a concussion and record all documentation or assessments at each stage of the Return to Ride process
