You rely on your Jockey Status to know whether they are eligible to ride. We’ve made some improvements to the workflow so that it is clear when they are eligible, require follow up with a medical professional, or are ineligible. We’ve made a handy chart for you to reference in future which you can find further below this article.
Ineligible: A jockey might have this status if any of the following reasons apply:
- A jockey has outstanding forms (if required)
- A jockey hasn’t had a logged physical examination in the last 2 years (if required)
- A jockey’s is missing a baseline test or it is more than 2 years old (if required)
- A jockey has a diagnosed concussion
- An accident report was submitted by a medical team member with the status of “Ineligible”
Follow Up:
- A jockey has a concussion assessment logged by a non-medical personnel OR
- A jockey has a concussion assessment logged by a medical personnel and it is “Suspected” but not yet diagnosed OR
- An accident report was submitted with the status of “Follow Up”
Eligible:
- When all documentation is in place (Forms, Physicals, Baseline Tests)
- When the athlete has been cleared with a clearance note after concussion
- When the medical staff clears the player after an injury recorded on an Accident report
Note: Please upload a clearance note to indicate return to ride for any injury related ineligibility reasons (i.e. a jockey is no longer concussed, or a jockey has recovered from a neck injury)
